How to customize the webmail & cPanel URL
Webmail allows you to access your email accounts through any web browser.
cPanel allows you to manage your hosting account through any web browser.
By default the webmail URL is – http://domainname.com/webmail
By default the cPanel URL is – http://domainname.com/cpanel
But you can customize the URL in few steps.
Step 1 – Log into cPanel >>Under Domains, click the Redirects icon
http://domainname.com/cpanel
From the Type drop-down menu, select which type of redirect is to be used.
Permanent 301 is a redirect that will update the visitor’s bookmarks and direct search engines to the new site.
Temporary 302 is a redirect that will redirect the visitor or search engine but will not update the bookmark, and search engines will continue to index to the original page.
Step 2 – Set the redirection for the domain name.
From the “http://(www.)” drop-down menu, choose the domain name you would like to redirect. (yourdomain.com)
If you would like to redirect a single page or directory, you can use the adjacent text field to enter the name of the folder or file. Ex- about.php
Type the destination URL in the redirect field and enable the redirection as per your wish. (http://example.com/contact)
Once all done, Click “ADD” to set the redirection.
Now when someone visits www.yourdomain.com/about.php, they will be automatically redirected to www.example.com/contact
Step 3 – Customize the webmail & cPanel URL
Steps are same as STEP 3, Before do the webmail redirection process create a folder as (mailme) under public_html folder.
Once created, choose the domain name (yourdomain.com), enter the name of the folder as (mailme) in below text box.
You can check created path status by accessing it – http://yourdomain.com/mailme
Then enter the destination URL which is your webmail URL – https://yourdomain.com/webmail
Once all done, Click “ADD” to set the redirection.
Now you can access your webmail with your customize URL, When you access www.yourdomain.com/mailme URL it will be automatically redirected to www.yourdomain.com/webmail
